IT BRINGS TEARS TO MY EYES: I have purposefully stayed out of the recent fray concerning Senator Hillary Clinton’s infamous “assassination” statement. The well known political analysts and pundits have certainly said much in the last few days concerning her “misspeak. But when I got this letter today from one of my friends at the ObamaBrigade [NationForChangeYesWeStand], it sincerely brought tears to my eyes. The letter is from Dennis Egan and the forward is from one of the faithful.

The letter is forwarded from Marla Turner and her comments also warrant mention here:

Senator Clinton’s latest verbal faux paux is further evidence that she is not the person who should become the next president of the United States. Her newest justification for staying in the race (beyond the time where she can win it) is because things like assassinations can happen in the month of June? Referencing Bobby Kennedy’s assassination was a stupefying, horrific comment that epitomizes the mindset of a tired woman who forgot her game face for just a moment.

Considering that many Barack Obama supporters have long feared for the senator’s safety, this comment was especially reckless. I find it despicable and disgusting – and unforgivable in the face of the lame apology that she offered. Even if she didn’t mean it the way it sounded, it will be hard to convince some people of that considering how intelligent she is. Surely she can connect the dots! We as Americans cannot afford for our president to make stupid comments like that. Imagine if she made such a comment during negotiations with the Middle East!

I can only imagine how hard it is for Hillary Clinton to swallow her own insufficiency but she has lost this election by her own hand. Barack Obama has won it fair and square, despite her desperate maneuvering and manipulating. Please don’t let her grandstanding and her distractions allow her to usurp what Barack Obama has already done, which is to win the nomination and to unify this country in a way that hasn’t been done in 40 years.

If anything happens to Senator Obama, I hope Ms. Clinton realizes her own culpability. Surely she must be aware of the considerable influence she wields. Should anyone take her comments to heart and harm Senator Obama or any member of his family, she should know that we will see the blood on her hands, even if she doesn’t or won’t.

Her comment was inflammatory, stupid, reckless, inciting, insensitive, provocative, and shows clearly that she does not have the judgment to be the next president of the United States of America. She needs to leave the race immediately.

Sincerely,

Marla Turner

This is the letter. Please read on…it is informative and brought a tear to my eye. This is a past we would like to forget.

Is it not a story that this woman is incapable to admitting fault or apologizing?

Assuming this is was truly an accident vs. a Freudian slip. Where is the apology, where is the remorse.

She was [is] the wife of a [former] president, for God’s sake how can she not have any remorse. How can this just be brushed off?

Abraham Lincoln (1865)

James Garfield (1881)

William McKinley (1901)

John F. Kennedy (1963)

RFK (1968) – during the primary

Assassination Attempts

Andrew Jackson (1835)

Franklin D. Roosevelt (1933) (as President-elect)

Harry S Truman (1950)

Gerald Ford (1975)

Ronald Reagan (1981)

Then add Black Leaders

Malcolm X

Martin Luther King

And it is so unspoken a fear and so alive in our public consciousness – Do you remember the song “Cult of Personality” – 1989

My wife actually looked ay[at] me and said – “she just gave some crazy the code”.
